“ "This is my new favorite place," my wife said walking into Catboat Pizza Bar seeing people picnicking along the Potomac River. With good pizza, refreshing froses, and great views, what's not to love. Open seasonally (around April to October), Catboat Pizza Bar is a chill deck bar on Alexandria's Daingerfield Island. There's a large parking lot next door. Walk onto the deck, order at the counter, and find a table or picnic on the grass, waiting for your food to arrive. We ordered two rounds of froses (they have a non-alcoholic mango one too), pepperoni pizza and mushroom pizza (they are square), and ice cream sandwiches. Everything was chill, easy, and good! My seven-year-old daughter loved walking along the water watching sail boats come in, planes land at nearby National Reagan Airport, and the monuments in D.C. It was a great evening! ”
“ We discovered this gem in September 2024 right before they closed down for the season (devastating) and I’ve been waiting with bated breath for them to reopen in 2025. catboat really brings the vibes for the NOVA area. We love its location, we can bike from where we live in rosslyn for a lovely day by the river. For those who live farther, you can hop in the car for a day by the water. The best part is the causal, low-key nature of the park. Tons of shade, kids running and playing, or patio seating for a more traditional “restaurant” experience. Today we brought blankets and chairs and made a lovely day being at the water. The food is okay. It’s available, which makes it great! The frose is delicious on a hot afternoon and being able to have a cold draft beer at a picnic really feels special. Definitely come to catboat and bring friends and family! It’s a great time. ”
“ Cute place with wonderful pizza! We took our dog out to enjoy the day and get some food! We had a great time. The patio is dog friendly and plenty of lawn seating. It's right by the water and you can watch planes take off while you enjoy your meal. ”
“ Limited menu as advertised, but what they have is really yummy, the slushies are so good, and it’s awesome being able to watch the planes land at DCA. We brought our toddler with us and loved the green space for dining while he ran around. Very dog and kid friendly. ”
“ This is a great spot to relax outside with a slice of pizza and a beer or slushie. Conveniently located just off the Mount Vernon Trail at Daingerfield Island. Great views of the Potomac, airplanes and sailboats. Staff are great and the patio is usually active. Usually lots of cute dogs there too. ”
“ Took my wife and son here after seeing a Instagram post about this place. Menu is small but the pizza is good. Pizza is deep dish style and each slice is big. A whole pizza pie can easily feed 4 people. Great location with plenty of free parking, water views, and airplanes from Reagan airport. My son really enjoyed watching the planes land while we ate. There isn't much seating so bring a blanket or lawn chairs. ”
“ I went with my husband and brother in law and a total of 4 kids under 5. We arrived at 5:45pm in a Sunday evening. Our drinks were delicious, the pizza arrived sooner than we expected and was enjoyed by all. The space and atmosphere is unmatched. Stellar space in the grass for families to casually eat and drink and space for kids to run and play without bothering others too much. This place was on my summer bucket list and we’ll be trying to make it back before the end of the season. ”
